GETTING READY TO BUILD

The importance of good plans and a good contractor is illustrated in the photo at right. On the other hand, you might get a lot of visitors to your home if you use their contractor.

Now that the plans are done, we give you a firm bid on your home. After signing a contract, we take care of the permit process necessary to start building your home. We also apply to PG&E for power on your behalf.

Almost all of the homes we build are turnkey. That means that when we are finished, you can move into the home without doing any further work. If you want only a shell or weather tight home, we can also do that for you.

There are items in the contract that will be allowances. An allowance is a cost that is variable, and it is included in the contract. If you spend less than the allowance, the money is refunded to you. If you exceed the allowance, then you pay the difference. Typical allowances include tile, floor coverings, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and light fixtures.
